My Gold Party Review: Gold Buying and Selling
March 29, 2009 | Gold Digger | Gold Buying Reviews 9 Comments
At a My Gold Party gold party, guests bring along their old or unwanted gold jewelry (broken chains, old jewelry, teeth, etc.) to be appraised. The gold is weighed and assessed for value, and the guest is given money for the gold on the spot. It appears to be a great way for people to sell their unwanted gold for a wad of cash, and enjoy the privilege of doing so in a social setting. My Gold Party can also be a fun and lucrative way to raise money for charity, with the charity receiving the cash for the guests’ gold.
UPDATE: Please be aware of a Scam Alert for My Gold Party. They are just a middleman for gold refiners like Cash4Gold. If you sell your gold directly to Cash4Gold you can make up to 20% more in payouts.
Offhand, this seems like a good idea. It’s certainly a lot less seamy than going to a pawnbroker to sell unwanted gold. Also, My Gold Party gives the impression of being a proper company that consumers can trust not to rip them off. And a little cash in your pocket doesn’t hurt.
Like a pawnbroker, My Gold Party is a middleman, getting a percentage of the gold’s worth, usually about 10% goes to them and 10% to the gold party host. Otherwise, why would they be in this business? I guess they don’t know think we would know where else to go to sell gold and cut out the middleman – but we do now! Cash4Gold offers a much better payout than My Gold Party, and you work with them in the comfort of your own home.

Wow, words like “sucker” don’t sound like something a lawyer or legal advisor would use. It looks like My Gold Party is afraid of people knowing about their service!!
There’s nothing wrong with offering a fair review on any kind of product or service – there’s nothing defamatory here that I can see, so there shouldn’t be any need to worry about lwawyers…!
Is what My Gold Party are doing legal? I guess it probably is, but they are just not giving the real value. They offer a price and you don’t have to sell.
If people are getting good value for something they don’t use, then I don’t see a problem with it. Times are tough and extra cash is always a plus.
Hmm, thanks for the update. Gold can be very useful and these days the prices are high so it can be very profitable to sell out your unused gold in order to get some quick cash and the returns now are quite high.
Yes, I can see more people doing this now that times are tough. Any extra money you can get for unwanted items is a plus right now.
I can see this people a popular party idea these days with people in need of money. Gold will always have a high value and can be a great way to earn money on the side.
