Excellent tips. Can I also recommend that, before selling their jewellery, people get quotes from various jewellery buyers to ensure that they get the best deal possible. It would be a shame to sell it only to find later on that you could have gotten a better deal.

It really does seem like a good idea to evaluate your gold before taking it anywhere to be appraised. You need to know what you have, just in case you end up dealing with someone shady or ignorant. Better to be safe than sorry.

Lovely tips. Many people have no idea how much is their jewelry box worth. I would like to suggest that people don’t sell their gold to small pawn-shops. Some of them will want to con you.

I have a pair of 14K pierced earrings that were appraised in 1985 for $210.00. I have to sell them, plus a few additional pieces, and I would like to know what I might expect when I try to sell them.

Great article! I hear good and bad things about some of the gold buyers. However, everyone should first research and THEN sell. If you sell based on impulse you could end up selling it for far less than it's worth. Go to http://www.goldvox.com and checking out what other people have to say about the service first. Also, if you have used them before let other people know if you had a good experience! If not, tell them to run far away - fast! lol. Good luck!
